First up, here’s why this little corner of the web even exists:

Way back in 2018 or 19, Faytschn and yours truly, Muniel, had this crazy idea. As we lived too far apart to draw together on a regular basis, we would become pen-pals, comic-pen-pals. One of us would draw a comic-page, then send it to the other one (by physical mail, by the way… 😂), who would then respond with another comic-page, and so on and so on. But the project didn’t last long…

Fast forward to March 2020, when the world took a wild turn. As lockdown started, we rebooted our project. But this time, everything went digital via social media. Drawing inspiration from what was on everbody’s mind back then (hint: COVID19!), our rejuvenated, collaborative, digital, lockdown-art brainchild was christened:

„COMIC20“!

As one of the lead characters in this digital escapade, the ficticious comic-character Muniel is always ready for some evil fun. It is here where the easily recogizable look of the art figure „Muniel“ found its footing…

Growing up in the industrial district of Lower Austria, the term „normal“ was always an alien concept for Muniel. His creativity was vividly pulsating long before Hetzendorf Fashion School and, with it, Vienna came into his life. It eventually became clear to him:

He thought: „Why not try everything?“ And then things really kicked off: Comics here, quirky card games there, and in between animated video artworks and colorful paintings. Art installations, performance art, event-planning, and DJ-ing were also on his creative menu. Plus, who doesn’t remember his infamous toilet paper dress from the „Ball of Peristalsis“ and… seriously dude, wtf?!

And since Muniel is also a very giving and kind-hearted person (sitcom-like-laughter… 😉), he likes to share his passion for creating through different collaborative projects and workshops.
